Definition: Estimated annual income at which half of families earn more and half of families earn less, by family type and legislative district (e.g., among California families with children in 2016-2020, half had incomes above $84,790 and half had incomes below $84,790).

Footnote: Data are adjusted for inflation based on Consumer Price Index retroactive series using current methods (all items) adjustment factors. Families with children are those with children by birth, marriage, or adoption. These estimates are based on a survey of the population and are subject to both sampling and nonsampling error.
